Living in the real world…
and having to endure all that life throws your way can be a daunting task for sure. Most of us can agree that in a perfect world we would welcome all things that make us happy and none of the things that make us feel unpleasant emotions, for example: sadness, anger, frustration, etc. There are times when the world can be harsh and extremely unforgiven, which forces us to figure out how to live and survive the world in which we live.
Enter PERSEVERANCE: persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Perseverance: In the Face of Adversity
Life is about change, which can be good or bad and trying to adapt yourself to the circumstances in your current situation while working towards your desired goal can be tough. Perseverance allows you to attain your goals no matter your circumstances!
Perseverance – Key to Desired Success
If you strive hard to achieve your goals, then success will surely be the end result. Through perseverance, you get to learn about your strengths and innate capabilities of which you may be completely unaware that you possess.
Discovering Yourself
Many individuals have come to realize an ability or a strength within themselves only when they were required to employ it to deal with a challenging situation in life, whether it be personal, spiritual or professional. On my journey, I’ve discovered my strengths as well as my capabilities that have given me a foothold in my quest to attain all the goals I’ve set for myself.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 NKJV
Becoming Stronger in the Process
Dealing with adverse circumstances in life is very trying and exhausting, it tends to make one stronger and you’re able to gradually weather all kinds of challenges that life throws in your way. People who persevere for their cause not only become tough, in the process, but also provide much needed support and guidance to others who may not know how to deal with certain events they encounter in life. Three and a half years ago my family and I experienced an unimaginable horrific event that forever altered our world. At the time, I didn’t know that I would make it through or even want to for that matter; I personally lost my will to go on. But, through a lot of prayer, supportive family and friends and above everything else holding on to my faith in Jesus Christ, always reminding myself of God’s promise of eternal life I’ve slowly worked my way back to living what is now my new reality.
“We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” Romans 5:3-5
ADVERSITY — Paving the Way to an Opportunity?
Adversity might prove to be an opportunity in disguise, as it prepares people for the reality of life. By persevering, individuals showcase a strength of character a valuable trait, which is rare and therefore precious. I’m now THRIVING…spiritually, personally and professionally…MIND BLOWN!
According to Einstein, “In the middle of adversity lies opportunity.”
At the end of the day…
“There’s no sugarcoating it, this thing called life is tough to navigate sometimes”
You have to learn to maneuver through the valleys, the curves, and the hills of life in order to enjoy the mountaintop experiences of LIFE…so stay focused and PERSEVERE!
