Get Ready To Make Yourself More Shareable Online.

Ready. Set. Connect.

Ever wonder what makes some Facebook posts, videos, or blogs “go viral,” while yours are lucky to have a few shares and one or two comments? While it might seem like some well-kept secret, the truth is it’s easy enough to create shareable content. It just takes a little thought and creativity.

People are visual.

Whether you want to know more about how oranges are grown, or you’re looking for ways to boost your blog traffic, you’ll find a variety of images (especially infographics) ready to educate you.  Check out some examples of infographics.

Colorful, easy-to-read graphics are able to share vast amounts of data while still entertaining an audience. With infographics, by condensing numbers and stats down to easily digestible bite-sized pieces, you can make valuable information highly understandable in visual form for any audience. Even better, your market will be happy to share (and share and share).

If you’re not artistic, don’t worry, you can always outsource and hire a designer to create the perfect graphic for you. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can check out a variety of tools available to make your own.

Just remember, when creating graphics or sharing images, always be sure to use photos and illustrations that you have rights to (or those available via Creative Commons). You don’t want to get slapped with a nasty lawsuit for using an image that is protected by copyright. This is definitely an area that you can plead ignorance so know your rights before you start to share.

Create valuable posts.

Another way to boost your share factor is to provide valuable written content. Writing a blog post? Don’t just skim the surface of a topic. Dig deep. Provide as much information as you can on the topic. If you’re worried about providing too much information in one post, you can always break it up into a series. Just be sure to link them together so that readers can catch all of the individual pieces and get all the information you’re working hard to convey.

If you don’t want to break it up, that’s ok too. Readers have proven they want good info and they don’t mind digging into a long post to find it.

No Matter What – Be Authentic!

No one wants to read or share another “me too” post. Not you and not your audience.

What they do want—and what they’ll happily share with their friends and fans—is personality-driven pieces that aren’t afraid to take a stand.

If you take a look at some of the more popular public figures on Facebook, it’s clear that their popularity is at least in part built on the fact that they are authentic. What you see is what you get. You know, simply by reading their content and watching their videos, nothing is hidden; there’s no “corporate speak” to be found.

It’s easy to form a connection with someone like that because you feel like you know them personally. And what do you do with your friend’s content? You share it, of course!

It doesn’t take much to be shareable. Just be yourself, be transparent, and be valuable. In short, just do what you’re already doing, only with a little bit more oomph and you’ll find that your comments, likes and shares will go up in no time!
